Our Story
In one way, the story of our church begins on September 17th, 1905, when a small group officially organized the area’s first Baptist church in what was then Charleston, Washington. Though in December 1927 local voters decided to consolidate Charleston into her ever-growing neighbor, Bremerton, this church retained its name and continued its faithful gospel ministry throughout the 20th and into the 21st century.
In another way, our story begins in the fall of 2020, when this historic Charleston Baptist Church officially joined with a home church who called themselves Sound Bible Fellowship. The two groups first met as one church on November 8th of that year under the name Charleston Bible Fellowship. It was a beautiful marriage of gifts and resources which richly blessed both groups. This church, by God’s grace, now lives and continues to grow as one unified body.
